Yesteryear Zero Again 2

First published on WordPress, July 25, 2013
In the midst of Dengue/ Haze, another environment/ green news on spring cleaning (NEA vs TC) surprisingly became the bigger burning issue. The breaking news were hotly debated/ covered on Parliament/ MSM/ New Media, including notably a light hearted touch/ humor on the internet (and my Twitter reply).

@ChenShowMao Many Stories, One Singapore – Great Power with Come Together/ Clean Together/ …/ Fine Together

On so-called integrity, the on-going big huha of spring cleaning is indeed hilarious. For the common people, the closure is to keep it short and simple. NEA should just fine WP TC for the performance lapse (just like fined PAP TC on mosquito breeding, imposed penalties on recycling company for performance lapse). For goodwill, WP TC should offset part of business loss (as claimed) in future spring cleaning of hawker centre.

With National Day coming soon, residents saw again the (raised) up and (knocked) down and (supported) up of few colourful flags (including our National Flag) at neighbourhood area (in Sengkang).

Yesteryear Zero Again

First published on WordPress, July 3, 2013
Apart from the on-going/ strong KPIs of BAA/ FFL/ WPA/ CMI/ MIA/ MIB, the month of June 2013 also saw new record highs for recurring/ long-lasting environment/ green news. Dengue (from unattended mosquito breeding) climbed passed 10,000 cases (include 3-4 reported death), thus mozzie wipe-out frenzy. Haze (from illegal forest burning) shooted up above hazardous 400 points (include 1 reported death elsewhere), leading to face-mask wipe-out frenzy. Hailstorm (from cold wind/ crystalline rain) dropped ice cubes and caused damages (tree uprooted/ traffic disrupted), soon after water bombing/ cloud seeding.

Besides doing the 10-minute 5-step mozzie wipe-out (from NEA) at home, beware of getting mosquito bites when outside (especially around dark/ park area) to avoid contracting dengue fever. In case of mosquito bites, do not scratch them and rub some ointment (such as Tiger Balm) to relieve the itch. If you need, use less of smelly toxic-based (or bad side effect) mosquito repellent, and think more of safer natural-option (or good own mix) mosquito repellent (but not overuse till invite bee/ butterfly) instead.

Besides looking at PSI (from NEA) level, my simple gut feel is to just looking out the window, plus keeping in mind the worst PSI as gauge for the day. In case of unhealthy condition (above 100 points), try to stay indoor (if possible) and drink enough water (or cooling/ herbal tea) to flush out toxic from the body. If you can, backup some essential food items at home, and buy few boxes of real face mask (standby for emergency use).

On a real prolong crisis (like SARS-like diseases), whatever current supply of N95 masks will not be able to meet the sudden surge in public demand. The normal people (less at risk) should understand and take care of the more vulnerable group of people at these difficult times. If you must (preferably now than later), buy few boxes of real face mask, so that history does not repeat itself?

Yesteryear Once More

First published on WordPress, March 1, 2013
After a record-breaking year 2012, the Foreign Fallen/ Flying/ Floating Leaves FFL made remarkable records of having up to 10 small dead leaves/ 5 big dead leaves in a single day (big day on NDR 2012). With the hot pursuit of Zero Challenge/ Quality/ Productivity/ Harassment for the year 2013, the zero indexes soared to yet another new high of up to 8 big dead leaves in a single day (black heart during Chinese New Year CNY 2013 FFL Special).

For the continual messy support to keep my free WordPress alive for another WordPress Anniversary Award – Thanks for foreign falling/ flying/ floating around the same area (in Sengkang)! In fact, the zero whatever/ extreme should have no problem of leaving a glamorous record on Guinness World Records!

To put up everything with short terms, H U M O R, S S S S S and V W X Y Z for yesteryear once more.

A rewarding Hands-On experience (towards Greening Singapore) – H is for Home, U is for Uniquely, M is for Motherland, O is for Original, R is for Reality.

A sticky Missing In Action MIA (aka Monkey In Business MIB) series (towards Zero Challenge) – S is for Sabotage, S is for Sotong, S is for Stone, S is for Sore, S is for Shiok.

A learning Foreign Fallen/ Flying/ Floating Leave FFL journey (towards Guinness World Record) – V is for Victory, W is for Double Victory, X is for eXceptional, Y is for Yesteryear, Z is for Zero.

Zero Many More

First published on WordPress, August 14, 2012
Making rounds on the ground. After spending thousands of dollars, the not-so-old smooth tiles (at ground floor) have been replaced/ resurfaced with slightly rough-surface tiles (but beware of sticky/ oily ground).

When the dust settles down, the junk mails land visibly around the letter box area, indifferent to the nature of the ground. The trashes and bins follow suit to occupy the dumping ground, from early hour till night-time.

After much talk on Hope/ Heart/ Home (NDR on 26 August), the ground shows otherwise a stronger desire/ push for even more of Zero Challenge/ Productivity. The foreign ‘fallen’ leaves still not enough around the same area (and no shredding/ composting).

Yesterday Once More

First published on WordPress, May 1, 2012
With the raining season, rainwater would be collected on the unattended dead leaves (potential mosquito breeding). The branches/ leaves were occasionally chased off from other places, and at times ended barking up the wrong trees. While I tried clearing away the big dead leaves (and collected rainwater), the foreign ‘fallen’ leaves would keep coming back around the same area like yesterday once more.

It was a pity to let so many dead leaves gone wasted, having no proper place/ shade to dump the garden waste. With so much garden waste to mess around, it would be more meaningful to embark on shredding/ composting for the greenery.
