Yesterday Once More

First published on WordPress, May 1, 2012
With the raining season, rainwater would be collected on the unattended dead leaves (potential mosquito breeding). The branches/ leaves were occasionally chased off from other places, and at times ended barking up the wrong trees. While I tried clearing away the big dead leaves (and collected rainwater), the foreign ‘fallen’ leaves would keep coming back around the same area like yesterday once more.

It was a pity to let so many dead leaves gone wasted, having no proper place/ shade to dump the garden waste. With so much garden waste to mess around, it would be more meaningful to embark on shredding/ composting for the greenery.

Blocking Greenery and Clogging Drain

First published on WordPress, November 29, 2011
Every day, many people from many HDB blocks will pass by a common footpath to cross over to the opposite food court, supermarket, or on our way to the Sengkang MRT station.

Most of us most likely have seen dead leaves clogging some drains along the footpath. Apart from dead leaves, there are also some shy and small green plants hiding inside one of the drains. During heavy rain, some footpath area will be obstructed by flooded rain water. We will have to make slight diversion away from the footpath to avoid the flooded area.

NEA has taken up the clogging drain as potential mosquito breeding case, but there is no reply from TC and few clogging drains can still be seen along the footpath.
