A Footwear Flip-Flop is a light/ casual footwear with rubber base and an inverted V-shaped strap. The flip-flops allow you to do common/ simple routines at nearby places (such as food court/ supermarket) around the neighbourhood areas. Sometimes in a slip of mind, you may forget and wish to run faster with the flip-flops. If you are unlucky, the rubber strap will just snap off and disconnect from the base. When I need to go somewhere longer/ farther away from home, I will put on something else more durable (such as sports shoe) for a pleasant/ comfortable trip.
Pertaining to Fibre Flip-Flop (on Fibre Broadband), I often face the following problems while doing common/ simple stuff at home.
Flip #1: Page(s) Loading. The online browser keeps spinning very hard on the background.
Flop #1: Wait for the spinning to die off (retry if unsuccessful) to visit a webpage.
Flip #2: Page(s) Unresponsive. The following page(s) have become unresponsive. You can wait for them to become responsive or kill them.
Flop #2: Close the unresponsive message and wait a while (refresh if unsuccessful) to visit a webpage.
Flip #3: Google Chrome. Whoa! Google Chrome has crashed! Relaunch now?
Flop #3: Close the out-of-order browser and open a new browser (reinstall if unsuccessful) to visit a webpage.
Pertaining to Blogging (on Fibre Broadband), I have also been through the below problems at home.
Flip #4: Aw, Snap! Something went wrong while displaying this webpage. To continue, reload or go to another page.
Flop #4: If you like, keep a saved blog somewhere else (such as simple text file) for copy and paste again.
Flip #5: Image Download. The white background is distorted to grey background after downloading.
Flop #5: If you want, workaround with non-white background (such as my green gravatar) and download again.
In similarities, the snappy Fibre Flip-Flop is akin to everyday Footwear Flip-Flop. Alternatively, go Premium/ Supreme for those always on the run/ internet. For the simple minded, flip-flops are still the cheaper/ manageable option for now.

M1 Customer Service
First published on WordPress, September 10, 2013
From January 2013, I had called M1 Customer Service to raise few issues and provided suggestions regarding problem on phone/ broadband. Even though my ramblings were recorded (for M1 quality and coaching purpose), I had to repeat the same story when M1 Quality Team contacted me. M1 would also normally send SMS to customer to rate the service after the call.
Please rate the service you just received from M1 Officer : 1-Very Good, 2-Good, 3-Average, 4-Below Average, 5-Poor. Thank You.
I had even suggested to M1 to improve the above service by extending the response to take on valuable remarks after the rating.
5 interference during phone call
5 poor signal for phone esp town area
5 some place no phone signal, such as simei
5 junk message HBank
5 spam message +65_8578
5 spam message M1
5 thumbs down for ignoring DNC
5 late fixed voice installation/ extra charges
5 fake fibre broadband 100 Mbps
5 unauthorized charges 10X
My general encounter/ feedback to M1 are that I have more spam message/ scam message/ spam call/ junk call, sometimes immediately after contacting M1. For the Spam Marathon/ Relay on a particular special day (last week Thursday 10:00AM to 4:00PM ①-⑥ and 9:05PM ⑦), I had to make few kind reminders to high-class financial institutions with DNC (also shared with M1/ IDA/ MCI/ MAS/ CAD/ PMO).
① BBank Spam Call ② 77862 UBank Spam Message ③ 76060 PBank Spam Message ④ 77777 M1 Spam Message
⑤ C_shCr_d_t Spam Message ⑥ ABank Spam Message ⑦ +65_1859 Spam Message
And the Dedicated Spam Queue of those that do not respect privacy/ DNC/ COMPLIANCE.

Fake Fibre Broadband 100Mbps
First published on WordPress, July 30, 2013
For a new (non-royal) inclusion to this blog, this post covers another (non-environmental) aspect of my hands-on experience on green matter – Quality of Service. This story/ rambling is about my not-so-pleasant encounter regarding Fibre Broadband 100Mbps with M1/ OpenNet (already shared with M1/ IDA).
On the day of installation (on 25-JAN-2013), the M1/ OpenNet engineer did not seem to bother to ensure that the Fibre Broadband was properly installed. When I did a speedtest with direct connection to my own notebook, the speed failed miserably with about 18Mbps. The engineer responded that the poor speed was due to location. However, I told him that this lag should have been improved since Sengkang was already Fibre Ready for more than 2 years.
The engineer then did some test (and configuration I supposed) with his netbook to make the speed to over 80Mbps, and pinpointed the fault to my notebook. However, I immediately plugged over to do another speedtest with direct connection to my own notebook (after restarting ONT terminal), the speed still showed the more decent speed of about 77Mbps (without restarting my notebook). In other words, the claims made by the engineer on location and notebook were false and unprofessional.
After that, I setup the Cisco Wireless Router (up to 300Mbps) bought from M1 and tested the wireless connections successfully with speed of over 70-80Mbps. This decent speed only stayed for about 2-3 days, after which the speed was down to about 22-44Mbps. Till today, M1/ OpenNet still could not meet the more decent speed closer to 100Mbps.
