On August 2013, I received illegal messages from HSBC for my terminated/ closed credit card (reported to HSBC/ IDA/ MCI/ MAS).
FROM HSBC: 01AUG YOUR ONE-TIME PASSWORD IS 1~ FOR ~-~. IT WILL EXPIRE IN 3 MINUTES. PLEASE DO NOT USE FOR OTHER PURPOSE.
FROM HSBC: 01AUG YOUR ONE-TIME PASSWORD IS 8~ FOR ~-~. IT WILL EXPIRE IN 3 MINUTES. PLEASE DO NOT USE FOR OTHER PURPOSE.
These junk messages were One Time Password (OTP required by VISA or Mastercard) for my invalid credit card. I immediately informed MAS/ IDA regarding the non-compliance/ wrong messages sent from HSBC, as I had already terminated all my HSBC accounts/ messages TWO years ago.
To comply with the use of valid account, MAS/ IDA/ HSBC (also VISA/ MasterCard) need to take the effort to correct/ stop the security flaw from the illegal attempt on the invalid credit card account.
Upon my complain, HSBC submitted an enquiry to the IT department to investigate on the matter. HSBC confirmed that my card account was closed and that the online transactions were not completed. HSBC also improved/ included validating the card/ account statuses prior to sending the OTP SMS.
I would like to thank all for acknowledging and taking the time to work on the issue for your own organization. I would also like to thank HSBC for finally willing to take on my earlier points on security flaw/ non-compliance/ non-charity/ bad experience.
I am glad that many people (like myself) would no longer have to receive such silly SMS in future.

HSBC Bad Experience
This post is about my bad experience with HSBC, starting with wrong messages sent to my phone (shared with HSBC/ IDA/ MCI/ MAS).
From HSBC: 10MAR Transaction activity from ~-~ SGD 2,~
From HSBC: 09FEB Transaction activity from ~-~ SGD 1,~
These wrong messages were Security Card SMS meant for another credit card holder, unknown to me. Despite many calls to helpdesk/ emails and calls from HSBC (from February to May 2011), HSBC did not do anything to correct the wrong information of the other credit card holder.
In other words, HSBC did not seem to bother to do a thorough check/ confirmation on the applicant's particulars (such as phone no) prior to approval of the HSBC account.
I personally went to HSBC (Raffles Place, 2nd floor) and informed HSBC that I would send this issue regarding wrong data to MAS if I still received wrong SMS. I finally got the help from a lady (Ms Tang) to act on the issue and had the wrong information changed.
After that, I redeemed few HSBC vouchers, and got the help from the same lady (Ms Tang) to settle my last bill of S$1.61. I still had ONE unused HSBC voucher that I intended to convert to SCS Donation. For the purpose of charity, the same lady (Ms Tang) tried to help again, but HSBC said cannot.
On August 2011, I finally terminated all of my HSBC accounts (not in use). I personally went to HSBC again to return all of my HSBC cards (cut half). I had also requested HSBC to exclude me from future HSBC messages/ mails.
I would like to thank Ms Tang on her professionalism/ help for her customer/ organization.
Two years later ...

Yesteryear Zero Again
First published on WordPress, July 3, 2013
Apart from the on-going/ strong KPIs of BAA/ FFL/ WPA/ CMI/ MIA/ MIB, the month of June 2013 also saw new record highs for recurring/ long-lasting environment/ green news. Dengue (from unattended mosquito breeding) climbed passed 10,000 cases (include 3-4 reported death), thus mozzie wipe-out frenzy. Haze (from illegal forest burning) shooted up above hazardous 400 points (include 1 reported death elsewhere), leading to face-mask wipe-out frenzy. Hailstorm (from cold wind/ crystalline rain) dropped ice cubes and caused damages (tree uprooted/ traffic disrupted), soon after water bombing/ cloud seeding.
Besides doing the 10-minute 5-step mozzie wipe-out (from NEA) at home, beware of getting mosquito bites when outside (especially around dark/ park area) to avoid contracting dengue fever. In case of mosquito bites, do not scratch them and rub some ointment (such as Tiger Balm) to relieve the itch. If you need, use less of smelly toxic-based (or bad side effect) mosquito repellent, and think more of safer natural-option (or good own mix) mosquito repellent (but not overuse till invite bee/ butterfly) instead.
Besides looking at PSI (from NEA) level, my simple gut feel is to just looking out the window, plus keeping in mind the worst PSI as gauge for the day. In case of unhealthy condition (above 100 points), try to stay indoor (if possible) and drink enough water (or cooling/ herbal tea) to flush out toxic from the body. If you can, backup some essential food items at home, and buy few boxes of real face mask (standby for emergency use).
On a real prolong crisis (like SARS-like diseases), whatever current supply of N95 masks will not be able to meet the sudden surge in public demand. The normal people (less at risk) should understand and take care of the more vulnerable group of people at these difficult times. If you must (preferably now than later), buy few boxes of real face mask, so that history does not repeat itself?

Yesteryear Once More
First published on WordPress, March 1, 2013
After a record-breaking year 2012, the Foreign Fallen/ Flying/ Floating Leaves FFL made remarkable records of having up to 10 small dead leaves/ 5 big dead leaves in a single day (big day on NDR 2012). With the hot pursuit of Zero Challenge/ Quality/ Productivity/ Harassment for the year 2013, the zero indexes soared to yet another new high of up to 8 big dead leaves in a single day (black heart during Chinese New Year CNY 2013 FFL Special).
For the continual messy support to keep my free WordPress alive for another WordPress Anniversary Award – Thanks for foreign falling/ flying/ floating around the same area (in Sengkang)! In fact, the zero whatever/ extreme should have no problem of leaving a glamorous record on Guinness World Records!
To put up everything with short terms, H U M O R, S S S S S and V W X Y Z for yesteryear once more.
A rewarding Hands-On experience (towards Greening Singapore) – H is for Home, U is for Uniquely, M is for Motherland, O is for Original, R is for Reality.
A sticky Missing In Action MIA (aka Monkey In Business MIB) series (towards Zero Challenge) – S is for Sabotage, S is for Sotong, S is for Stone, S is for Sore, S is for Shiok.
A learning Foreign Fallen/ Flying/ Floating Leave FFL journey (towards Guinness World Record) – V is for Victory, W is for Double Victory, X is for eXceptional, Y is for Yesteryear, Z is for Zero.

The Ultimate Collection of Mr/ Ms Bin
First published on WordPress, October 30, 2012
The ultimate collection of Mr/ Ms Bin to exhibit/ portray the exclusive (harassment) side of life (in Sengkang)!
Exhibit 1: The trashes/ bins are acting fierce and fearless (of cctvs), but timid and thoughtless deep in the heart.
Exhibit 2: The top/ bottom bins are keeping a distance between own selves, leaving the gap the wider the merrier.
Exhibit 3: One exhibit is definitely not enough, better mess up more bins to make a bigger/ longer impression.
Exhibit 4: More free play to make it even more extraordinary, by scattering more rubbish on the grounds.
Exhibit 5: The bins are lying flat to be as low as possible, getting dead tired after the terrific work.

Green Tuesday
First published on WordPress, September 4, 2012
Every Green Tuesday, some students are reminded to do their green duty by bringing newspapers to the school recycling corner (in Sengkang). These newspapers will be sold (and recycled) and contributed to School Pocket Money Fund for needy students. For my family, our main source of supply comes from the free publications of TODAY/ my paper (daily news) and HEADHUNT/ The Property Guru (bi-weekly copy, but not printed on recycled paper).
After getting precious updates from the zero dollar sources, I will keep these recyclable aside for the green purpose. When the stockpile runs low, I have to cast the net wider to look for other source of supply, such as asking a small favour from relatives. I have also volunteered to do some spring cleaning on pile of newspaper on the office desk upon kind approval.
As the season for making red heart is approaching, look out for Fold A Heart on TODAY (or e-Heart on internet). For every Heart folded, SingTel will donate S$1 to SingTel Touching Lives Fund. Make a small difference by putting the origami hearts inside a reused envelope and dropping it into nearby post box (or few easy clicks on internet).
Remember to make every worth out of the free publications by supporting the green road to charity.

First published on WordPress, August 14, 2012
Making rounds on the ground. After spending thousands of dollars, the not-so-old smooth tiles (at ground floor) have been replaced/ resurfaced with slightly rough-surface tiles (but beware of sticky/ oily ground).
When the dust settles down, the junk mails land visibly around the letter box area, indifferent to the nature of the ground. The trashes and bins follow suit to occupy the dumping ground, from early hour till night-time.
After much talk on Hope/ Heart/ Home (NDR on 26 August), the ground shows otherwise a stronger desire/ push for even more of Zero Challenge/ Productivity. The foreign ‘fallen’ leaves still not enough around the same area (and no shredding/ composting).

Beyond Earth Hour 2012
First published on WordPress, July 17, 2012
Earth Hour 2012 was officially held around the world on 31 Mar 2012 (last Saturday of March). Come every year, the event will be highly commercialized on that day to celebrate the dark moment (this year at Orchard Road). As for me, the message of switching off non-essential lights is already deep-rooted in my daily life.
My Beyond Earth Hour Challenge finally ended on 3 Jul 2012 (from mid May 2012), accumulating more than 500 hrs savings of electricity (12 hrs every night from about 6.45pm to 6.45am). The corridor light (just outside my family unit) comes back to life after 40-50 days, and once again brings back that nice and warm feeling outside the front gate. All is not gone yet, as the clock is still counting for few broken down lights at lift lobby and rubbish chute.
Under normal circumstances, any out-of-order light will be replaced within 3 days, as any dark spot will be too difficult to be missed for too long. However, having light down may turn out to be a blessing in disguise. When a staircase light is down, there will be less rubbish/ cigarette ash/ butt/ box around the dark area, as the happy goers look for brighter spot elsewhere.
The next concerns the lights for the rubbish chute, being the popular playground for cockroaches/ lizards and other disgusting stuff. The residents have ample time of 4-5 hrs (before 12 midnight) to dispose their rubbish every night, or not mind holding on to some rubbish at home till morning.
Any taker, if technically feasible, bother to make a small difference by switching off the unnecessary rubbish chute lights (after 12 midnight)?

① Green Tuesday

Untold Story of Black Trash Bag
First published on WordPress, May 15, 2012
Feeling the urge to get attention from passers-by, a black trash bag made its presence at a roadside along a common footpath (from March 2012). Many passers-by would had spotted the black trash bag, but not bothered to have a second look at it. After 1 week under the rain and sun, the black trash bag decided to move to a more prominent location few inches down the road.
After another 2 days of disappointment, the black trash bag decided to make a bolder move by crossing over to the opposite side of the road. The black trash bag seemed happier with the companion of people strolling and jogging by. As the days passed by, the black trash bag stayed lazily at the spot and forgot about its real goal.
After more than 30 days, the black trash bag finally moved off from the memorable spot. Would the black trash bag eventually reach its final dream destination?

Yesterday Once More
First published on WordPress, May 1, 2012
With the raining season, rainwater would be collected on the unattended dead leaves (potential mosquito breeding). The branches/ leaves were occasionally chased off from other places, and at times ended barking up the wrong trees. While I tried clearing away the big dead leaves (and collected rainwater), the foreign ‘fallen’ leaves would keep coming back around the same area like yesterday once more.
It was a pity to let so many dead leaves gone wasted, having no proper place/ shade to dump the garden waste. With so much garden waste to mess around, it would be more meaningful to embark on shredding/ composting for the greenery.

Red Bamboo on Green
First published on WordPress, March 22, 2012
With exposure to sunlight, the red bamboos stand out most prominently among the other colorful canes of green/ yellow/ brown/ black. Though I still prefer green over red, the red bamboos are believed to be able to drive away evil spirit/ wrong doing, and to bring forth good luck/ change of heart.
After the landscape upkeep (catchy patchy outcome of the mystery puzzle after more than 20 days), it will take some time to see lesser fallen branches/ leaves around strategic locations (such as drain/ road) in Sengkang.
